About

Matthew Bailey grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, where he graduated fourteenth in his high school class (*out of 16 students). After college, Matt opened a business in St. Croix, sold hamburgers, went to film school, got married, opened another business in North Carolina, and got a theology degree.

Though he majored in creative writing, it wasn’t until later in life that he realized it was the only thing that kept his interest. Along the way, he’s tried his hand at stand-up comedy (He killed. You should have been there) and will on occasion bash the drums or pluck the bass. Matt was the lead singer of a band for two hours before being let go due to wanting to add “Shake it Off,” to the setlist and any Van Morrison song but “Brown Eyed Girl.”

Now, he’s diving back into his true passion—writing stories with mystery and humor that engage the readers in thought.
